DESIGNER

JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Provide engineering design and analysis support to project teams, system designers, and engineers in making effective design concept selections, specifying products & technology, producing detailed designs, technical reports, analyses, drawings, and leading failure investigations.
  • Design products from initial concept stage through to production in a professional and time efficient manner. 
  • Produce 3-D CAD Models and Detail Drawings to provide solutions in accordance with clients’ requirements.
  • Create full general arrangement drawings (GAs) and detailing all the subcomponents for fabrication of the project.
  • Assist in the development of company design systems, standards and procedures.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience of design and drafting utilizing ANSI Y14.5 as well as experience in the design of mechanical components and systems. 
  • Strong technical knowledge in process vessels, tanks & package design.
  • Experience with applicable codes and standards.
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Minimum 5 year's experience with AutoCAD / Solidworks. 



DESIGNER – ELECTRICAL

JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Performs standardized or prescribed assignments involving a sequence of related operations.
    Has full knowledge of the job.
  • Standard work methods are followed for preparing engineering drawings under general supervision.
  • Designs components or portions of systems, and modifies existing designs to develop or improve them. Uses computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools.
  • Gathers information, makes studies, performs calculations, and prepares original rough layouts and sketches to present design proposal.
  • Coordinates design criteria with engineering, tooling, material, and planning group in accordance with contractual specifications.

CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

JUNIOR VALIDATION SPECIALIST

JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Interface with clients and peers in groups such as Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to ensure that the implementation and qualification of equipment, systems and processes is conducted according to established quality standards through lifecycle management
  • Participate in the development of protocols and reports supporting the validation of equipment, systems, and processes
  • Provide validation support on project teams to ensure that pharmaceutical products are manufactured/packaged according to applicable regulations, organizational guidelines, and industry standards
  • Generation / execution of equipment and/or process validation protocols and reports, including  gap analysis of existing protocols against industry standards

  • Lead and manage the Document Control section; provide support to section staff as required
  • Lead the bidding and delivery of assignments within the section’s range of products and services

DESIGN ENGINEER

  • Work closely with Project Managers and Project Engineers to deliver design projects.
  • Delivery of workload to the timescales and deliverables agreed with project managers and project engineers, as well as reporting on progress against these to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Have an active contribution to the continuous improvement of the team’s design guides and practices, looking to raise issues where identified and adopting appropriate developments in technology and practices.
  • Help to develop junior members of the team from our technician and graduate schemes to enhance their competency and the range of skills that SNC-Lavalin offers to its clients.
  • Compliance of the applicable standards and ensure that design packages are delivered in line with these.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experienced in the delivery of railway (rolling stock) engineering design projects, either new build, retro-fitment, modification or refurbishment including the ability to understand the inputs required to support the development of a successful design, and the ability to produce designs which accommodate the product lifecycle (manufacture, install, test, operate, maintain, remove, dispose)
  • Qualified to degree standard or apprenticeship in a relevant discipline, or several years’ related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PRINCIPAL DESIGN ENGINEER

  • Lead all aspects of assignments undertaken for clients including estimating, tendering, planning and execution.
  • Act as a source of knowledge and guidance on technical areas within your own expertise, including design, system integration, interior refresh and refurbishment.
  • Work closely with team leaders, section head, the commercial team and others within the business to support both RSE and broader business objectives.
