JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Leading and managing a team to deliver early phase projects including technical advisor roles, corridor preservation, strategic transport planning studies, strategic concept design, concept design, reference design, options assessment, route planning studies, multi-criteria analysis etc.;
  • Communicating with team members to ensure that they understand, and become engaged with, the project strategy, brief and client requirements;
  • Managing the acquisition, deployment and management of resources for the project to ensure optimal resource allocation for the project; and

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Perform and manage projects in: hazardous materials assessment, worker exposure assessment, design and oversight of hazardous materials abatement projects, indoor air quality assessments, and vapour intrusion air monitoring.
  • Oversee the preparation of high quality project proposals, reports and deliverables; coordinate and conduct the necessary review of project documents with in-house team members, client representatives, contractors and others required to work as a team on the project.
  • Seek assistance from company management when project difficulties arise and assemble the resources required to serve the needs of a project or several small projects.

CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR

JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Perform ASTM, ACI, and other miscellaneous construction testing;
  • Perform construction inspections and inspections using nuclear gauges, concrete sampling, and construction safety procedures;
  • Interact effectively with the construction Contractor management personnel and crew;
  • Work with others, including utilities, Construction Contractor, state, local, and federal agencies, the COR, FEM, and Remediation Monitor;
  • Demonstrate independent and effective problem solving/decision making;
  • Competent in taking meeting minutes and shall thoroughly document the key elements of a meeting with minimal corrections.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • (4) Years’ experience in construction management, field inspection, or construction supervision of civil works projects (earthwork, roads, highways, levees, etc.).
  • 2 years’ experience in earthwork construction inspection;
  • 2years’ experience in precast concrete construction inspection;
  • 3 years’ experience in cast-in-place concrete construction inspection;
  • 1 year experience with Government Contract inspection;
  • Past experience on an IBWC project does not imply acceptance of a person's qualifications.
  • Bachelors of science degree in civil engineering, construction management, geological engineering or related field from an ABET accredited school of engineering or the CI must be registered through a United States' board of engineering as a civil engineer, geotechnical engineer, geological engineer, construction management or related field.
  • An up to date confined spaces certification for inspection of structures, shall be effective no later than award date of Task Order.
  • The CI must possess knowledge and experience in ASTM, ACI, and other miscellaneous construction testing requirements, as well as knowledge in construction inspection procedures, and inspections methodologies, including the use of nuclear gauges, concrete sampling, and construction safety.
  • The CI is required to have advanced verbal and written communication and organizational skills.



ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT TASK LEADER

Join Arcadis and serve as an Environmental Project Task Leader on our world-class Site Evaluation and Remediation teams in support of environmental project implementation (technical reports, scope, schedule, budget management).  The position is project management oriented and, working under the supervision of project managers, you will perform task management activities including planning and tracking of scope, schedule, and budget in accordance with Arcadis project management requirements. The position would ideally be located in  Bluefield, VA, but is flexible for the surrounding areas/states such as Raleigh, NC.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Masters in Geology, Engineering, or Science related discipline.
  • Knowledge or experience in state environmental regulations, specifically underground storage tank regulations, in OH, VA, WV, TN, SC, NC, DC, and FL.
