  • Currie & Brown has a range of opportunities within the Middle East region and is currently looking for an assistant cost manager/quantity surveyor to work on a prestigious build project in Dubai.
  • We are looking for well-rounded individuals with experience of providing PQS services to a wide range of clients.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • RICS accredited BSc degree in quantity surveying or equivalent

COST MANAGERS
Location: Saudi Arabia
JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Taking direction from the senior quantity surveyor (SQS)
  • Supporting the SQS in the project deliverables and work flow
  • Assisting with project cancellations and terminations, variations, evaluations, detailed final account measurements and claims
  • Undertaking and quantifying commercial evaluations of several projects (across various sectors) for cancellation
  • Providing high-level assessments and quantifications
  • Maintaining effective communication to ensure that all information is available for the successful completion of projects; liaising with other managers to ensure efficient financial control

FORENSIC PLANNING SPECIALIST
Location: QATAR
JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Review of time impacts associated with all changes and claims
  • Provision of forensic planning advice and delay/disruption analysis to determine cause and effect
  • Preparation of counter claim defences in conjunction with the commercial team
  • Preparation of programmes for third party hearings
  • Preparation of proposals to mitigate delay claims
  • Responsibility for identification and evaluation of impact of consultants' or contractors' delays
  • Preparation of claim and counter claim register with cause and effect in claim logs
  • Undertake critical path analysis of programmes

CONSTRUCTION PROJECT CONTROLS MANAGER

JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Project estimating, cost engineering and significant interfacing with Procurement, Scheduling and Finance/Accounting when appropriate
  • Participating in business development and management of new projects for cost consulting
  • Supporting RFP responses, forecasting resources required for proposals, preparation of proposals and leading negotiations
  • Supporting client account management, monthly invoicing and purchase order management
  • Preparing and leading project cost estimates from initial concept through various stages of development, using past experience, historical data and parametric ratios
  • Effectively communicating and presenting estimate details to internal and external stakeholders
  • Establishing new and maintaining current estimating tools, methods and databases used
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Specific experience managing the project controls of complex capital projects
  • Ability to add value as a working manager with great team building skills

CONSTRUCTION PROJECT SCHEDULER

JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Developing new project schedules, including creation of the WBS structure, code structure and logic relationships
  • Weekly updating of engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning portions of the project schedules by communicating with stakeholders and developing the appropriate data capture methodology
  • Performing critical path and critical chain analysis to determine project risk levels; identifying and quantifying critical scopes of work requiring management attention
  • Issuing regular reports to project management team, from detailed field reports to high-level management summaries
  • Providing detailed analyses of project-critical issues and working with the project team to find and implement solutions to satisfy constraints set by quality, cost and schedule requirements
  • Identifying and understanding actual versus planned performance by performing activity-level baseline comparisons and other quantitative analysis
  • Maintaining multiple project schedules in various phases of work
  • Maintaining an organized file structure of schedule data and project data backups with physical redundancy
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related technical field preferred
  • Specific experience managing complex build construction schedules in the pharmaceutical/laboratory/life sciences industry, including experience with cGMP and clean rooms
  • Verifiable experience managing schedules for projects of 100MM+ in scope
  • Excellent scheduling knowledge and ability to advise on schedule development, critical path, predecessors/successors, activity definition, activity sequencing and logic
PROJECT MANAGER

JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Manage to completion (including qualification) projects, on time and within budget
  • Coordinate all necessary resources through end of projects
  • Coordinate update of project schedules
  • Take responsiblity for project management and financial management of projects
  • Execute scope of work with minimum interruption to existing facility operations
  • Report on project progress and risks
  • Report into client's senior project managers
  • Actively participate in project coordination, contractor and scheduling meetings
  • Coordinate projects with all necessary health and safety requirements
  • Coordinate development of project cost estimates at different funding gates
  • Work with purchasing group to obtain pricing from contractors, vendors and suppliers
  • Liaise with clients end users and non-construction persons within client's organization
