Casual Light Products Transport Driver






Description:

Marathon Petroleum Company LP has a position available immediately for a professional Petroleum Transport Driver at our Covington, KY distribution facility. Drivers will be required to load petroleum products into the transport by inspecting the transport for compliance with safety regulations, confirm the products to be delivered with dispatch and load the products safely. Drivers are responsible for sampling/testing to ensure product quality. Drivers must transport the product from the distribution facility safely. This entails conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, adjusting driving habits to road conditions and being able to position the transport at both load and unload sites. Upon arriving at the unloading site, drivers must inspect the transport and the surrounding areas, ensure that the tank at the site will be able to hold the product and ensure quality control. Drivers must meet all regulatory requirements with all training modules and completion of all paperwork (DOT, Marathon Petroleum, etc), and by complying with Marathon’s safety rules and guidelines. Drivers must coordinate with the transport scheduling analysts to ensure that the correct products are being sent to the correct sites at the correct time. Drivers will be required to troubleshoot issues and make minor repairs on the truck as necessary. Drivers are responsible for any relevant work as assigned by the Regional Transport Manager as necessary to support Terminal and Fleet Operations.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED is required. Candidates must have an excellent driving record, be at least 21 years of age, hold a valid CDL with Hazardous and Tanker Endorsements and be able to pass a required DOT physical, drug test and background check. Laboratory Technician

Description:
Marathon Petroleum Company is seeking a Technician in its Refining, Analytical, and Development (RAD) – Analytical Services organization located in Catlettsburg, Kentucky. This is a full-time, salary non- exempt position and may involve shift work.
Perform routine analyses in the Analytical Section laboratories, and effectively communicate with customers and staff. Interpret results and ensure testing/reporting meets customer expectations.  
Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and maintain analytical equipment.  Ensure method and SQC compliance. Ensure all lab methods meet or exceed both published/accepted method criteria and regulatory requirements.
Assist in the setup and evaluation of new instrumentation, including the MOC evaluation and pre-startup reviews for new equipment, participate in incident investigations, and follow all laboratory safety requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field, with at a minimum of 20 hours of chemistry.
Computer skills, and experience with LIMS and MS Office software such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Process Technology Intern

Description:
Marathon Petroleum Company LP, a recognized leader in the energy industry, is seeking Process Technology Interns at our Catlettsburg, KY refinery.
This internship is a one-semester program consisting of a minimum of 300 hours of work experience over the semester. The intern will learn about the roles and responsibilities of an Operator at the refinery. We are currently seeking interns for winter and summer 2015.
Qualifications
  • Must be registered students at the Ashland Community & Technical College and enrolled in the 2 year Process Technology Program which leads to an Associate’s of Applied Science Degree or a recent graduate (one year) of the program.
  • Must have good class standing. No academic probation accepted. This includes a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  • Will be required to submit college transcripts.
  • Must be available for day shifts. The Intern will primarily work Monday-Friday (day schedule). No overtime will be permitted.
  • Must have successfully completed a minimum of 30 hours towards Process Technology degree prior to beginning their internship.

    Pipeline Operations Technician 1




    Description:
    The Operations Technician Trainee position is located at Marathon’s Lima, OH facility. This position works in and around petroleum products and crude oil facilities executing Operations & Logistics, Damage Prevention and Right of Way Relations activities. The successful candidate will perform such duties as: facilitating and monitoring pipeline movements and conducting product sampling; tank switches and cuts; assure accordance with all regulations in support of DOT, Environmental, Safety and Regulatory compliance. Travel, call-outs, and overtime will be required on an as-needed basis. Marathon Pipe Line LLC operates more than 5000 miles of underground pipeline in 15 states. The successful candidate is required to live within 45 minutes of the reporting location (Lima, OH).

    Qualifications:
    A high school diploma or GED is required. An Associate’s degree in a technical field preferred. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record. Proficiency in basic computer skills is expected. Previous pipeline experience with emphasis on electrical/mechanical is highly preferred.

    Procurement Contracts Representative




    Description:
    This position is responsible for obtaining the energy requirements for Marathon Petroleum Company’s locations throughout the Midwest and East Coast.  It will also include the procurement of natural gas for the asphalt terminals as well as for the Speedway locations.  The position is responsible for contract negotiations and implementation of the third party utility bill payment system.

    Warehouse Supervisor

    Description:
    • Warehouse Operations
      • Provide oversight on warehouse daily business and supervise the hourly workforce and contractor crafts assigned to Warehouse
      • Manage personnel and manage personnel issues that arise
      • Closely monitor daily warehouse personnel performance and provide coaching to address performance issues
      • Monitor workloads and shift personnel to assist on another job as needed  
      • Deal with any inappropriate conduct or actions in a prompt manner
      • Monitor warehouse housekeeping and address identified gaps     
      • Support Routine Maintenance in terms of materials and parts needs
      • Monitor KPI's and address any gaps that develop
      • Coordinate the arrangement of all warehouses for routine inventory storage
      • Work with and provide guidance to warehouse staff on parts returning to stock, assembling parts by vendors list, assist in decisions on what to do with non-stock items
      • Work with Machine Shop to manage equipment spare parts
      • Lead tool box discussions daily with team members, discuss any safety concerns, lead safety sequential meetings
      • Work with other foremen to construct scheduled assignments
      • Ensure that warehouse overtime list is kept up to date
      • Input daily and O.T. hours into SAP
      • Ensure that any overtime solicitation for the warehouse is executed per the OT guidelines
      • Submit daily absentee roll call report, maintain log of team members absences, EV’s, Dependent Care Days, Vacation, S & D
      • Monitor CBT status of team members and ensure that they remain 100% compliant with required completion dates
    • TAR / TAPIT
      • Work in conjunction with TAR/Projects teams to support TAPIT on as needed basis
      • Assist Maintenance and TAR in expediting and ordering needed material
      • Work with TAR team to help manage excess inventory
    • Goods Issues / Receipts / Stock Put Away / Surplus
      • Ensure that all Warehouse stocked materials and parts are recorded in SAP
      • Ensure material print tickets are printed and stock is on hand, and deliveries are scheduled and made in timely manner to support maintenance / operations
      • Daily tracking of the current status of goods receipts, use of receiving worksheets, issue confirmations, stock put away, and other key continuous functions of the warehouse craft and contractor team
      • Manage surplus material processes for the site
      • Assist receiving with resolution on goods received issues, monitor problem goods receipts and target rapid resolution of any issues
      • Troubleshoot SAP problem tickets, stock, bad work orders, etc.
    • Cycle Counts
      • Ensure cycle counts remain on target and are completed per MPC policy
    • Catalyst Inventory
      • Ensure catalyst is shipped/received, properly logged, and inventory is accurate
    Qualifications
    • Degree Preferred: BS from an accredited University focused in Supply Chain. High School Diploma could be accepted with supporting experience
    • Experience Preferred: 10 years’ experience managing warehouse operations in the Petrochemical industry
    • Computer Proficiencies: Must be proficient in use of SAP, also MS Office products

    IT Professional - Internal Auditor

    Description:
    udit is a fast-paced environment in which the successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating and testing Marathon's information system (IS) control environment. An IT Infrastructure auditor participates in reviews of internal controls within computer applications, technology infrastructure, and developing systems. Initially, this position will focus on technology infrastructure with opportunities to later focus on application controls. Technology infrastructure includes Mainframe, Windows, UNIX, VMWare ESX, SQL, Oracle, SAP, business and process control networks. An IT auditor has the potential to be exposed to operational and corporate infrastructures and its management during this assignment. The auditor gains an understanding of the IS operations, assesses the internal controls, and performs tests to ensure the controls are working as intended. The auditor meets with client management to discuss concerns and works with management in developing practical action plans to improve controls. Given the nature of the company’s business, approximately 25-30 percent travel to domestic locations will be required. Training in the latest technologies is provided to develop necessary skill sets.

    Transport Scheduling Analyst

    Description:
    The Transport Scheduling organization is responsible for optimizing and scheduling the movements of transports (trucks) to Speedway gas stations, light product terminals, crude wells, and other internal and external customers.  This includes coordinating the movements of gasoline, diesel, renewable fuels, kerosene, jet fuel, crude oil, and LPG’s across the supply chain.  The Transport Scheduling Analyst plays an essential role in optimizing MPC’s truck and carrier fleet movements in order to maximize corporate profits.
    Qualifications:
    Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Business and/or Logistics is preferred. GPA must be at or above 3.0. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed to work with both internal and external customers. Attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks, and flexibility are essential to complete this job on a day-to-day basis.

    Pipeline Mechanical Technician

    Description:

    The Mechanical Technician position is located at the Zachary, LA facility.  This position works in and around petroleum products and crude oil facilities executing Maintenance and Reliability activities.  The position also provides field support to various other MPL processes and departments.  The successful candidate will perform various duties including: repairing and maintaining valves, pumps, tank mixers, strainers and meters in accordance with all regulations.  The candidate should have the ability to troubleshoot problems, work independently and also in a team environment.  Travel, call-outs and overtime will be required on an as-needed basis.  Marathon Pipe Line LLC operates more than 5000 miles of underground pipeline in 15 states.  The successful candidate must reside within 45 minutes of the Zachary, LA facility

    HES Professional

    Description:
    As a member of the Marine HES&S team, the Emergency Preparedness & Security Coordinator manages response plans, Emergency Response Training activities, oversees the security operations of the Marine Organization, coordinates compliance audits and participates in emergency response and security activities that directly support the Responsible Care Management Systems and Responsible Carrier Program.  Work activities may take place in an office setting, on barges, boats or in the Marine Repair Facility. The Emergency Preparedness & Security Coordinator also serves as a liaison with outside first responders.

    Auditor Internal Control

    Description:

    Internal Control Audit is responsible for performing internal control reviews of financial and operational processes, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) control testing, regulatory compliance reviews, and vendor audits for Marathon Petroleum Company, which includes refining, marketing & transportation segments, and its subsidiaries, Marathon Pipe Line LLC and Speedway LLC. Auditors gain an understanding of the operations, assess business risks and controls which mitigate risks, perform testing of controls to ensure effectiveness, and report audit results to management. Given the geographic dispersion of the company’s business assets, approximately 20-30 percent travel within the continental US will be required. Relocation is considered.


    Qualifications:
