Senior Planning Manager


Location:   Djibouti








Job Description
  •  Responsible for Berthing, Data Entry, Yard Planning, Ship planning, Traffic Dispatching & reporting.
·        To manage and co-ordinate all container and container ship related activities, optimum berth occupancy, yard and equipment utilization.
·        Determine daily operational priorities.
·        Oversee the planning section in terms of day to day activities and guiding planners and traffic dispatching controller to achieve set production targets
·        Coordinates with lines to achieve a free flow of information to ensure smooth client customer relationship.
·        Responsible for coordinating the fixed berthing window requirements of clients
·        Administrates planning procedures.
·        Build up team spirit amongst the planners & emphasis on achieving set production targets.

     
Qualifications & Experience:






8 years supervisory and/or management experience in the Planning Dept. in a container terminal using the Terminal Operation System (Navis/SPARCS/Express/ZODIAC any other TOS)

Degree or equivalence in Port/Logistics/Transport management
Advanced knowledge of the French or Arabic Languages is highly recommended

     

Department Coordinator Security

Job Description
  • Access and manage Department Head’s mail, email, and phone functions as required and ensure all correspondence is managed and priority items processed
  • Develop and prepare presentations, format security reports
  • Proactively work and ensure that continual recommendations to improve departmental functions are developed and implemented and relevant training requirements are identified and implemented in line with budgets
  • Manage data input and systems i.e. portal applications, etc to ensure maximum data integrity, accuracy and timeliness
  • Undertakes partial audits of management systems as directed by the Head of Security

Job Description


  • Manage security processes, standards and initiatives for the business security performance
  • Review and as a member ensure the implementation of security standards, initiatives and training programmes
  • Document any technical advice and support provided for operational risks and projects managed in line with Government Compliance and Regional security initiatives
  • Support policy objectives within the Free Zone whilst ensuring all managers and staff are provided with information as required
  • Check that policy and legislative information across JAFZA has been delivered

Primarily produce to a high standard business and strategic analyses and recommendations for Regional Management on investment and strategic decisions related to existing business operations;
·        Project manage from inception to completion, and then post acquisition transition all stages of a project, including co-ordination of advisors and internal functions/resources, writing bid submissions, drafting internal presentations, reviewing due diligence etc.;

Job Description

This role is based in Limassol, reporting to the General Manager, it will manage the planning and execution of terminal operations and establish optimum resources to meet customer demands and contractual obligations.
You will maintain the efficient and effective running of the business adding value to the customers by providing full, proactive, end-to-end operational expertise to the Company to ensure that customer contractual targets are met or exceeded and that their vessels, cargo and passengers are serviced as effectively and efficiently as possible and within budget.
The role requires great awareness of local community and workforce attitudes as well as an ability to understand and work with government authorities,  shipping line executives, agents, vendors, contractors, etc.

Qualifications & Experience:

You should be degree level of qualification, however this is not essential, as ability to show achievements / experience of managing a similar operation is key criteria; Diploma in Port Management (National Sea Training Centre, Lloyd's Maritime Academy, Informa Maritime & Transport); Member of the Institute of Shipping Management;
Excellent Greek and English oral and written communication skills is however essential.
You must be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of Multipurpose Terminal Operations utilising appropriate technology.  You should also be able understand the fundamental financial levers within the business and uses accounting concepts including measures of profit, marginal and variable costs, breakeven points and return on capital.

You must have demonstrable experience of a full project management lifecycle with leadership experience and a track record of successfully managing a large infrastructure project management. Significant leadership experience in the container terminal and or logistics/shipping industries is essential
